Each Family Session runs for 3 hours in total. This includes a guided fishing period of approximately 2.5 hours, with time set aside for your lakeside picnic and refreshments. Sessions are available in the morning or afternoon — please mention your preference when you enquire.

The sessions are designed for children aged 4 and upwards. Younger children are welcome to attend alongside their family, though active participation in fishing is recommended from age 4. Our guides are experienced with all ages and will tailor the pace of the session accordingly.

The Family Session accommodates up to 2 adults and 3 children. If your group is slightly larger, please mention this in your enquiry and we will do our best to accommodate you.

None at all. Our guide is experienced with complete beginners, and teaching children and adults to fish for the very first time is one of the most rewarding parts of the day. Everything is explained clearly and at a relaxed pace.

All fish are returned to the water after being caught. We practise catch and release to ensure the lake remains healthy and thriving for future visitors.

We recommend comfortable, layered clothing suitable for the weather on the day. Waterproof jackets and sturdy footwear (wellies or walking boots) are ideal, particularly in spring and autumn. The lakeside can be muddy after rain, so avoid smart shoes.

No — everything is provided. Rods, reels, bait, tackle and all fishing equipment are set up and ready for you on arrival. You simply need to bring yourselves and a sense of adventure.

Yes. A beautifully prepared lakeside picnic with seasonal produce, bread, fruit and refreshments is included in every session. Please let us know of any dietary requirements when you book.

In warmer months, sun cream and insect repellent are a sensible addition to your bag. We are outdoors beside open water, so midges can be present in the early morning and evening, particularly in summer.

Yes — a 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due 14 days before your session. Payment details will be provided when we confirm your date.

We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, particularly for weekend and school holiday dates which fill quickly. That said, do get in touch even at short notice — we will always do our best to accommodate you.

The session price of £175 per family includes all fishing equipment, an expert guide for the full 3 hours, a lakeside picnic, refreshments. There are no hidden extras.

Cancellations made more than 14 days before your session will receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable, but we are happy to transfer your booking to an alternative available date at no extra charge.

We monitor conditions closely in the days leading up to your session. If we feel the weather makes the experience unsafe or significantly unpleasant, we will contact you in advance to rearrange. Your deposit is fully transferable to any available date. We do fish in light rain — it is often the best time to catch!

Yes — we are happy to reschedule your session subject to availability. Please give us as much notice as possible. Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of your session may not always be possible, but we will always try our best.

No. The photographer is optional. If booked, she accompanies your session and captures the moments of your day — the catches, the laughter, the picnic and the quiet moments by the water. Edited images are sent to you digitally within a few days of your visit.

Your photographs will be sent to you via a private online gallery link, from which you can download the full-resolution images. You are welcome to print, share and keep them as a lasting record of your day.

Absolutely — we love to see families sharing their day. If you tag us on Instagram or Facebook, we may share your images with your permission. Please do not share images of other families' children without their consent.
